Tânia Marquês

Master student

I'm from Portugal and I'm a Master student in Marine Ecology at the University of Lisbon.

The tendency to assume that certain behaviours are exclusive to humans overlooks how so many species demonstrate the ability to alter their behaviour and employ strategies that prevent disease spread. For my master thesis I focused on the cleaning interactions and how, after being immune stimulated with bacterial lipopolysaccharides (LPS), the cleaner wrasse might adjust its behaviour exhibiting social distancing strategies.

Reading a book by the sea, practicing cross training, travelling and cooking some tapas to enjoy with a good wine in the company of friends is always a nice plan.
