Hi! My name is Anna, I’m from Austria and I am a passionate data scientist with a strong focus on social network analysis. I was a student assistant at the Machine Learning Group at TU Wien, where I completed my Master’s thesis on Assessing the Impact of Interventions in Different Opinion Formation Models and explored opinion dynamics in online social networks.
Currently, my research centers on social networks in client-cleaner mutualisms in reef fish, combining ecological questions with data-driven approaches to better understand interactions in nature. What fascinates me most about data science is its interdisciplinarity—there is data everywhere, and we can provide tools to look at it from new perspectives and uncover hidden insights. This interdisciplinarity also allows me to discover new and exciting fields and to connect with inspiring people from a wide range of backgrounds.
Outside of my work, I’m an active and nature-loving person. I enjoy spending time with horses, playing volleyball, and being outdoors—whether hiking in the mountains or skiing (as an Austrian, that’s a must!). Music is also an important part of my life, and I love to sing.
