Erasmus + Graduate Intern
My name is Arianna, I'm from Rome and I studied Marine Biology at the University of Cagliari in Sardinia. I'm a postgraduate Erasmus student and I'm very excited to start my internship at the Laboratório Marítimo da Guia.
Since I was a child, I've always been fascinated by the marine world, and this passion led me to study marine biology and earn my scuba diving certification—a wonderful experience! In my master's thesis, I studied the thermal performance of the clam Ruditapes decussatus to create Thermal Habitat Suitability maps, considering climate change and the increases in water temperature projected under RCP 4.5 and 8.5 scenarios. I chose to do an internship at the Lisbon laboratory because I wanted to learn new laboratory techniques, work in a new team, and engage in a different type of study than that of my thesis.
