Beatriz Lopes

Hi! 

My name is Beatriz Lopes, I’m from Lisbon, and I study Marine Biology at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. I’m very excited to be starting a summer internship at Laboratório Marítimo da Guia to gain valuable hands on experience and deepen my understanding of marine systems and the functioning of a lab environment. i’m eager to contribute to ongoing projects and ready to take on any challenges that come my way.   

Ever since I can remember I’ve been fascinated by the ocean and its biodiversity, always seeking out opportunities to get involved in meaningful environmental causes. I’m especially passionate about animal welfare and conservation, and i’m deeply committed to contributing to the protection and preservation of marine ecosystems. I’ve always felt a strong connection with marine animals which continues to drive my academic path and commitment to making a positive impact in the field.
